Joseph Albers (1888-1976) was a German born painter, teacher, writer, and color theorist. A member of the Bauhaus group of the 1920's and a pioneer of 20th century modernism, he is known for his signature Homage to the Square series - a collection of over 1000 prints and paintings exploring color relationships and dimension.
