About the Artist:
Gogo Ferguson spends her time on Cumberland taking walks to find her inspiration. She will often find shell and bone washed along the scenic coastline. Skeletons from snakes long gone and the armor from an armadillo are found in the islands untouched forests. Where others would see an end, Gogo sees a beginning. Finding beauty and patterns in the various parts of nature at the end of their life cycles. Taking the bone and shells she finds, she transforms nature into wearable art. All sterling silver, gold, and vermeil items are made using a process called Lost Wax Casting.
By making a mold in this way, Gogo is able to capture every detail of the intricate beauty nature has provided.
